From paper to fabric, all my textiles start hand painted. With a background in illustration, I was always curious about textile design and learning how to expand my art beyond the paper. I started off hand painting tees, bags, and hats, but I was ready to take my designs a step further and learn how to make an actual repeat. The more I practiced, the more I wanted to learn how to create an entire pattern. It was a lot of trial and error, and a lot of youtube videos! Every design is a fun challenge for me and I am learning more and more with every pattern I create. One of my favorite parts of the entire process is dreaming and imagining how my designs would look on different kinds of products. It encourages me to be creative and think 'outside the canvas'. Today, creating textiles is at the core of my creative expression, check out some of my designs below.
